The Sackville Is Back - Rozelle’s Favourite Local Has Never Looked Better and It’s Serving Up Good Times to Match

The Sackville has unveiled a fresh new look that reaffirms its place as Rozelle’s favourite local. After a full-scale renovation, the Inner West icon has reopened its doors with a reimagined street bar, new outdoor seating along Darling Street, and refreshed spaces built for good food, cold drinks, and great company.

Whether it’s cheering on the Tigers in the brand-new Sports Bar or people watching on Darling Street in the afternoon sun over spritzes and share plates, the Sacky is back with its unmistakable Rozelle spirit that locals know and love.

“The Sackville has always been a cornerstone of Rozelle, a place where the community comes together for a drink, a chat, and a laugh”, says Elliot Solomon, CEO of Solotel. “The renovation has given the pub new life, especially the front bar which now opens right out onto Darling Street. It feels brighter, welcoming, and perfectly in step with the neighbourhood. We’ve created a space that’s designed for the changing face of Rozelle and Balmain - where people can pop in for a beer, catch the game, or settle in for an afternoon that rolls into the night with family and friends. It’s still the Sacky everyone loves, just with a fresh new energy and a cracking new menu.”

The redesigned main bar now flows seamlessly between high tables, booths, and big street-facing windows – ideal for a sunny cocktail or weekend catch-up. The refreshed interiors are warm and unpretentious, with new furniture, lighting, and layout designed to make the most of the venue’s prime corner position. With an inviting new layout, the space also now lends itself perfectly for events and celebrations; particularly as the festive season nears.

Outside, new tables spill onto Darling Street, perfect for golden-hour drinks or lazy Sunday lunches – connecting the buzz of Rozelle directly to the bar.

The Sackville’s new food menu has also had a glow up – from share-friendly snacks to lighter seasonal dishes, premium steaks from the grill and beloved pub classics. Highlights include Raw Tuna ($22), Burrata ($22) and Crispy Eggplant Parma ($25), plus new weekly specials like Tuesday’s $30 Pasta & Wine night, destined to become a neighbourhood ritual.

Behind the bar, over a dozen taps pour craft and classic brews, alongside a fresh and fun cocktail list, with highlights such as Blackberry Royale ($21) and the frozen Pina Colada ($18). The wine selection is extensive and full of character, much like the neighbourhood's vibrant community spirit. Plus there are some unmissable Happy Hour deals worth writing home about - $7 mini martinis, $12 margaritas and $3 oysters.

The brand-new Sports Bar is a purpose-built space for all sports fans, from die-hard Tigers supporters to casual followers alike. With expansive screens, TAB facilities and a dedicated bar, it brings big energy to every sporting fixture. As the spiritual home of Wests Tigers fans, it’s designed to be lively, local and full of good spirits.

The Sackville’s drive-through Bottle shop remains a local icon and is going nowhere - it now just provides even more convenience with a new Click & Collect service.
